Nirmala Schools have been established and managed by the Congregation of Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate, Vijayawada, which is a registered Society under the Society's Act, 1860.

A Short History of

NHS

Nirmala High School, Machilipatnam, established in 1966, is conducted by the Nirmala Sisters. The school has classes from Kindergarten to X and follows the state syllabus. Departmental recognition was accorded for Classes I to V in 1973 and the first batch of class X students took their examinations in March, 1978.

Permanent recognition was accorded to classes I to V in 1989 and Classes VI to X enjoy only temporary recognition. It is a private minority, unaided institution.

The school emblem consists of a ship sailing from West to East and a bright star guiding it in the dangerous deep blue ocean with the school motto - Truth, Love and Service.

The ship in the dangerous ocean is the symbol of human life struggling hard to reach the safe shore of life. In the same way every child who comes to this Institution is reminded to work hard during his/her education and attain a safer position in life. The bright star indicates NIRMALA MATHA who is patroness of this Institution.
